Ophthalmologist's Department

1. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

Covered Positions: Drivers operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, vehicles designed to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver), or vehicles used to transport hazardous materials requiring placards.

Example: A truck driver hauling goods across state lines in a vehicle exceeding 26,001 pounds.

2. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

Covered Positions: Flight crewmembers, flight attendants, flight instructors, aircraft dispatchers, aircraft maintenance personnel, ground security coordinators, aviation screeners, air traffic controllers, and operations control specialists.
Example: An aircraft mechanic performing maintenance on commercial airplanes.

3. Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)

Covered Positions: Locomotive engineers, conductors, train dispatchers, signal maintainers, maintenance-of-way employees, and mechanical employees performing tests or inspections on rolling stock.
Example: A train conductor responsible for the safe operation of passenger trains.

4. Federal Transit Administration (FTA)

Covered Positions: Operators of revenue service vehicles, operators of non-revenue service vehicles requiring a CDL, dispatchers controlling vehicle movement, maintenance personnel for revenue service vehicles, and armed security personnel.
Example: A bus driver operating a public transit vehicle in revenue service.

5. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)

Covered Positions: Employees performing operations, maintenance, or emergency response functions on pipelines or liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
Example: A pipeline technician responsible for inspecting and maintaining natural gas pipelines.

6. United States Coast Guard (USCG)

Covered Positions: Crew members operating vessels, personnel requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and those in safety-sensitive roles such as maritime enforcement or aviation survival technicians.
Example: A maritime enforcement specialist conducting vessel inspections.
